I promised more feedback on conversation recording software once I had completed my trials and software evaluation. My recommendations for Teachers and Students would be as follows:

SKYPE: The best package is called PRETTY MAY it is a fairly inexpensive download and works perfectly recording both threads of a conversation. This is the best solution for lessons on Skype

MESSENGER: The best solution found so far is FOCUS MP3 also inexpensive download. May need some tweaking in the settings. Voice recording of teacher perfect, 2nd person in thread average. Computer configuration and soundcards is a factor here.

There are some extremely poor and suspect packages on the market so take care with what you download. Always leave your anti virus software enabled. Run a sweep on anti-spyware software to eliminate any unwanted cookies transported with the download.
